Photgraphing at Sub Zero temps

Last night, we had foot of snow and temps dropped down to sub zeros and in negative teens. The wind was blowing at 30 mph which made the body feel temps to almost -20's.

I had this wicked idea of taking photographs in that temps. As I started dressing up warmly to go out, my wife looked at me ( Oh! boy, if looks could kill).Anyways, armed with tripod and started driving to the nearby park. As I got down and opened the car door, jeez....wind slammed my face. I couldn't even take my tripod out...lol.

I tried and was shaking miserably to hold the camera. Out of all the snaps I took, this is the only one without camera shake.

I have faced similar situation, though not at such temperature you have mentioned. You could have mentioned the place so that it clear to us where the photograph was taken.

iphone time shows 1:17am and the picture posted beneath is bright and sunny..Is that Sun shines at midnight in America?

Wow! Some shot there :-) I am surprised the camera did not die out in that cold! I had a Canon P&S many moons ago that just gave up the minute I stepped out into the Chicago chill (-30F)
